The Company Mastertel, leading telecommunications provider in Moscow and St. Petersburg, announces a partnership agreement with the MSK-IX, the largest Russian peering provider.
Within the framework of this project, Mastertel became a member of the Remote Connection to MSK-IX (MSK-IX Remote Access) Program as a provider of MSK-IX network access channels. A Telecom operator remotely connects to MSK-IX using Master-Connect’s dark fiber network. This means the network that does not have presence in the technical areas of MSK-IX can become full participants in the exchange of Internet traffic. This is achieved by using Mastertel’s distributed optical network, which connects to the nearest MSK-IX technical site.
Mastertel is actively working to improve the services provided for the benefit of subscribers. In this regard, we consider MSK-IX to be a promising long-term partner with sufficient technological resources to ensure the dynamic development of our customers’ IT infrastructure," said Vitaly Ezopov, Executive Director of Mastertel.
"When connected to MSK-IX, operators, hosting companies, content providers and corporate networks receive direct access to the networks and subscribers of more than 360 participants in the exchange, improving the connectivity of their networks. In addition there is also an increase in functionality and security of the information resources for users, as well as a reduction in the cost of interconnection," commented Sergey Kiselev, Head of Development Projects at MSK-IX.
