Mastertel, the largest dark fiber provider has expanded its Master Connect fiber optic network. Its total network length in Moscow and Moscow region exceeded 8,000 km in 2015. According to their plan to expand the network, the Company is busy laying between 40 and 80 km of optical cable per month.
In mid-2015 the Master-Connect Network welcomed a new route: fiber-optic cable was laid on the Novorizhskoe highway (for Glavkino, one of the Russia’s largest movie and television corporations) and in the town of Domodedovo, Moscow region (to North Domodedovo plc).
Every year Mastertel modernizes its own fiber-optic network, called Master-Connect, thanks to which the reliability and quality of systems and the smooth functioning of the network increase substantially. This year, in partnership with 3Data, backbone switching nodes are being constructed in the M8 data center on 4th March 8th Street, next to the other major fiber-optic backbones, in the B17 data center on 17 Butlerov Street and in the Ug8 data center on the 3rd Ugreshsky lane.
"We note the high demand and high dynamics of Master-Connect’s services and sales. To date, among the network ‘s clients are more than 10,000 companies. These are telecom operators, banks, large public and commercial organizations. More than 2,000 buildings are already connected to the Master-Connect network. Geographical expansion is the next stage of the Company's strategic plan to increase its presence in the telecommunications market of the Moscow region", said Vladimir Kukushkin, the deputy director of the Mastertel Stroy Project Service.
Master-Connect covers the whole territory of Moscow and Moscow region. Among the advantages of the network is a unique scope of coverage, as well as the average distance from the customer's premises not exceeding 350 m. The network is based on high-capacity fiber-optic cable, consisting of 72, 96 or more fibers.
