Mastertel carries out ‘Data-Master 2007’ project connecting several of Moscow’s largest data-centres
Mastertel (the Universal Service Provider of Moscow and Moscow region) by the end of 2007 aims to connect to the only and without any existing analogues dark fibre network ‘Master – Connect’ all largest data-centres of Moscow. This will be done within the framework of its ‘Data –Master – 2007’ project.
According to Mastertel, at the present moment around 20 large data-centres operate in Moscow. Their number is expected to grow even higher. Among them are such data-centres as Stack-Group, Svyaz VSD data-centre (owned by Integrated Services Group and located at Ostapovskiy Proyezd), Hoster.ru and others.
A ‘data-centres’ market in Russia is currently actively forming. Under the conditions of constant information level growth in all economy sectors, sudden rises in data transmission volumes leads to banks, retailers, logistics and manufacturing companies needing to place higher and higher volumes of their computer equipment in specialised data-centres. But the high cost of building and operating ones own data-centre is the main reason for the growth in demand for corporate information systems in professional data-centres. Those centres are equipped according to the latest technological trends and have a guaranteed electricity supply, round-the-clock monitoring and are linked to the most powerful telecommunication networks.
“At the present moment Mastertel is among the ten leading telecommunications companies in Moscow. Thanks to the Data-Master-2007 project we are planning to significantly strengthen our position in the market and cover an additional market area – the lease of connection channels and optic fibre”, - commented Commercial Director of Mastertel, Evgeniy Sandomirskiy.
