The 2010 Last Mile Conference took place in the Lesnaya Hotel Holiday Inn on July 1st. This was an entirely neutral venue for the meeting of various Operators' and Providers' representatives. The main topics open for discussion were the following: how to bring a network to the end subscriber; which technologies to use to achieve this; which of the company's resources to utilize in order to reach maximum network quality and speed with optimum business returns. Also up for discussion was the question of where to place the emphasis when modernising and developing existing networks. Also, what are the possibilities with the introduction of Last Mile technology when integrating newly introduced technologies with already existing infrastructures?
Alexey Lapshin, Vice Commercial Director of Mastertel presented a report entitled "Master-Connect resource + broadband network = effectiveness and feasability". In this report he spoke in detail about the following:
- The concept of the Master-Connect network structure,
- The optimisation of Service Provider's investment and operational costs in network creation,
- Ways of solving network interaction tasks,
- The advantages of building Providers' network based on the Master-Connect network.
