Mastertel (Connection Service Provider in Moscow and Saint Petersburg) provided the telecommunications connections for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's press conference, which took place in Skolkovo on 18th of March. The Company provided a high speed connection channel specially for the event.
The so-called "big press-conference" became the first large scale event of Medevedev's presidency. More then 800 Russian and international journalists took part in the press-conference. The event was broadcast live by all central tv channels.
Mastertel (telecommunications partner of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo) set up a dedicated connection channel with a carrying capacity of 300 Mb/sec in order to provide all the conference's participants with an internet connection.
"Since last year we have been providing high speed internet connections," says Vitaly Ezopov, Executive Director of Mastertel. "Some events, however, need a particular approach. The President's Conference was one such event. You couldn't allow any failures or even minor data transmission delays. Considering the great degree of interest in the event from the public as well as media representatives, we were expecting a high loading on the business-school's telecommunication's network. As a result of this, we took the decision to dedicate an additional high-speed channel based on our own connection node located on the territory of the school."
"I would like to thank Mastertel for their support at this event," said Victor Malakhov, Technical Director of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo. "Thanks to the Company's professionalism, the Wi-Fi network worked perfectly. This was also noted by the event's many participants when sharing their experience in the lobbies and in their blogs. It is interesting that many journalists not only carried out active broadcasting, but also watched internet-broadcasting of the conference. This is probably a substitute for the theatre binoculars."
