Leading telecom operator Mastertel has successfully implemented a large-scale project for the provision of telecommunications services at the 'Alpiyskiy' Business Center, St. Petersburg's first 'Intelligent Building'.
In setting up the telecommunications infrastructure, Mastertel's specialists very quickly laid down a fiber-optic network. This facilitated the transmission of a large flow of information. As a result, the class A Business Center became equipped with high-speed Internet, classic telephony, IPTV and many other services, possible only in networks with high bandwidth.
‘Alpiyskiy’ can safely be called unique because it incorporates an unprecedented number of modern technologies in its IT and building services. The INTELVISION Company (the chief designer) introduced modern energy-efficient buildings systems, integrated telecommunications infrastructures and integrated buildings management systems, known as BMS (Building Management Systems). INTELVISION has adopted a number of innovative solutions along with their own findings, turning the building into the best Intellectual Building in Russia. It received top prize at the 2011 HI-TECH BUILDING AWARDS.
Alexander Skakun, the Commercial Director of Mastertel in St. Petersburg, commented on the partnership: "Our company has a unique modern telecommunications infrastructure and the most reliable telecommunications services. We are constantly improving our 'quality of service' and apply innovations in practice that allows us to provide a full range of services at any level. In relation to this project, this is even more relevant, given the fact that the building is equipped with the most advanced IP-based infrastructure. We are pleased that business centers have begun to pay more attention to new technology, ‘Alpiyskiy’ being a good example. We hope that the joint ventures between Mastertel and INTELVISION will enable the ‘Alpiyskiy’ Business Center to continue to hold onto their 'A' class rating.
"Cutting-edge solutions used at ‘Alpiyskiy’ allow remote monitoring and management of all engineering equipment and the building's information infrastructure. With the aid of a few dozen fully automated subsystems and over 1,500 points of control and monitoring, the Project's Chief Engineer has real time mobile phone access to all data relating to the building. This data includes: the building's energy consumption and energy efficiency (more than 50 metering devices are employed for this data), accident statistics (more than 300 types of accident) and all engineering and IT subsystems reports. To ensure the efficiency of such a complex automated system, our building required a reliable integrated IP-infrastructure with broadband connection. Mastertel provided us with all of this."
It should be noted that the reliability of our IT solutions is of utmost importance to us, as ‘Alpiyskiy’ is basically a showroom for INTELVISION. Here we have a real example, demonstrating to potential clients from a variety of different sectors (health, education, commercial buildings, etc.), the benefits of good IT integration, automation and engineering infrastructure. These benefits include reduced energy consumption by 20% to 50% for various subsystems, improving the efficiency of real estate management and the operative management of emergency situations. Most importantly, the return period on investment in the site is only 3-4 years,'' said Vitaly Fedorov, Executive Director of INTELVISION.
