These results match last year’s forecasts. For example, predicted 2004 turnover will be 210 million rubles and the number of corporate clients will have increased by over twofold, reaching a total of 1100. The representatives of more than fifty large companies took part in the conference, among them industrial enterprises, financial institutions, State organizations, telecommunications companies as well as hardware and software manufacturers. More than a total of 160 people participated in the conference.
The President of Open Technologies, Sergey Kalin, said, “The aim of this conference is to illustrate the possibilities, which are being opened for businesses by creating a single informational space within the enterprise and also to explore ways to exploit, to maximum effect, the introduction of traditional and new technologies.”

As stated already, Mastertel’s shareholders announced the start of a new project, the production of a multi-functional pre-paid card.

The Executive Director of Mastertel, Vitaliy Yezopov, stated, “The advancement of this project is one more step in realizing one of the main principles of our company, i.e. to provide a full specter of telecommunications services. At the meeting of shareholders of ‘Universal Card Technologies’ a joint stock company specially designed to carry out this project, it was decided to carry out business within the framework of an independent company using their own technical base and management, even though the use of Mastertel’s resources at the initial stages was not excluded. Having evaluated different methods of entry into the pre-paid card market, we looked at the idea of large-scale market ‘assault’ along with comprehensive media advertising and outside-investment, as well as the idea of a low-budget gradual entry to the market. Finally we opted for a combined approach and plan to invest around one million dollars into the company in the third quarter of this year...”
